About Joel Montelongo Painting

Serving El Paso Since 1994

Joel Montelongo Painting began serving El Paso in 1994. What started as one painter taking on local residential work has continued, year after year, into a business with more than three decades of painting and finishing behind it.

Staying in business for over 30 years in the same city is not something a painting company can market its way into. It comes from finished work that holds up, customers who call back for the next project and referrals from neighbors, landlords and business owners who have already seen the results.

This is an owner-operated business. When you call, you are talking with the person responsible for the work — not a call center or a rotating crew manager. That makes it easier to ask questions, agree on what's being done and get a straightforward answer about your project.

Experience You Can See in the Work

Painting well is mostly preparation. Over three decades of residential painting and commercial painting in El Paso, the difference between a job that still looks good in year five and one that doesn't almost always comes down to what happened before the first coat.

That's why the work here goes beyond rolling paint on a wall. Drywall repair and texture are handled in-house, so damaged walls get corrected and blended rather than painted over. Stucco surfaces get the cleaning and patching they need before coating. And when a project calls for something beyond flat color, decorative and specialty finishes such as Venetian plaster, glazing and faux finishes are part of the skill set.

Painting techniques, products and coatings have changed a great deal since 1994. Staying current with them — while keeping the preparation habits that have always mattered — is what keeps the results consistent.

Local knowledge of El Paso properties

Homes and buildings here share common conditions: heavy sun exposure, stucco exteriors, dry air, settling cracks and finishes that fade unevenly on the south and west sides. Having painted through decades of El Paso summers makes it easier to recognize what a surface actually needs and to recommend a realistic approach for it.
